Step forward for your Muslim Brothers!

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

This a call for all those who condemn violence in the name of Islam. The atrocities by Taliban in Parachinar urge us to take strict action. We shouldn’t stand silent while our Muslim brothers and sisters are brutally killed. For centuries, innocent lives have been taken on account of what their beliefs are. None have the right to punish anyone for their beliefs. It is not for us to judge others in matters of religion. For once we should condemn those who act like God in their ways and kill people. The Shia community is an integral part of the Muslim world. The differences in opinion between the sects doesn’t certify such barbarism. Our beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H) never taught about sects but emphasized unity among the UMMAH. In the teachings of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and the word of Quran we are all but united. There is no reason strong enough to tolerate the massacre.

The silence of media authorities is condemnable. However this shouldn’t stop us from spreading the word. I urge all those in the Blogosphere to spread the word on the blog. You can repost or link back but keep spreading the word.

At the end of the day what ever sect/religion we may belong to we are indeed answerable to our lord. No religion or belief instructs such barbarism. I also call upon Human Rights Organizations such as Amnesty International to help spread a global wave of awareness. Being a member I urge the authroties to take notice of this barbarism and give it an international platform. The massacre taking place by the Talbans needs international exposure. Please sign the petition herewith and spread the word. You can write letters to Human Right Organizations to help us spread the word and increase international Pressure on the authorities.

STOP THE HOLOCAUST IN PARACHINAR!

To:  The Cheif Justice of Pakistan, Media Authorities, United Nations

A request on behalf of the Global Muslim community to take action against the massacre of Shia’s in Parachinar. For decades now innocent lives have been taken in the name of religion. We feel deeply appalled and request an end to this barbarism. The Global Muslim Community strongly condemns such actions. We as Muslims stand united against such killings. We consider it our sole right to protect our Muslim brothers in need.

We request all those in authorities to take strict action regarding this. It is indeed shocking to witness media’s silence on the issue. No one should have the right to take innocent lives for their vain agendas. We acknowledge that such killings are against the essence of Islam. Those responsible for such killings should be punished and strongly condemned.

By signing this petition we pledge herewith to support our Muslim brothers in what ever ways possible. It is time to put an end to violence. Islam teaches us respect and tolerance. We condemn barbaric activities conducted for vested interest and have nothing to do with Islam. We ask for immediate actions by :

  • Removal of Taliban terrorists from Hangu-Parachinar Road and its opening to all travelers irrespective of their sect.
  • Accountabilty of all those responsibe for the killings
  • A well-deserved media coverage to the event highlighting the atrocities.

Our Shia brothers have equal rights to exist and believe. The Muslim majority respects co-existence. We condemn those who justify their actions in the name of Islam. For Islam teaches us tolerance and Unity.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

In the last few days, we saw enough chaos throughout Pakistan (at least on Geo TV) to believe that the end of the PPP government was near. The bald lion with hair implants and no balls, was leading the long march towards the capital to crap on the Constipation Constitution Avenue, and ultimately on the country. The government set up many hurdles from Karachi to Islamabad and all over the country to try to keep the capital city clean (it’s far easier than the sanitary work required after any long march).

But the marchers were not to be stopped. The laxative of “foreign exchange” imported from India, and that locally manufactured in Raiwind, was forcing them to keep going. One guy had it so bad that he took his pants off on the way and Express News made live coverage of the incident, breaking the record “We Report First” streak of Geo News.

Since it began, the lawyers’ movement has been a cause of great instability in Pakistan. Yes you read that right, asshole! If it’s responsible for bringing democracy to Pakistan, Musharraf’s resignation, etc then it’s also responsible for the increase in terrorism, decline in economy, moral decline (see video above) and the Mumbai attacks. Okay, that’s outside Pakistan. How about the Marriott bombing?

Lawyers never questioning the motives of Nawaz Sharif in his stand for the independence of judiciary, when he is guilty of having it attacked in his last tenure as PM of Pakistan, makes me doubt the credibility of their own stand as well. Even the media forgot about it. So as I see it, all this support for Chauhdry comes from liars and hypocrites, and those fooled by them. As for Nawaz, we can all see that he’s using the lawyer’s movement to joyride into the PM house. Or the presidency. That is, if Zardari leaves. Speaking about Zardari, see this.

Throughout this comical episode, many promises were made.

Welcome back, Mr. Chauhdry, it’s time to stand up to your claims. So wipe that smile off your face and get to work. And get a toilet paper roll too because if you don’t live up to your talk, the real citizens of this country are coming to make you shit your pants.

Justice to Muslims, and the Justice of Muslims

One day a man was traveling on his camel with his possessions and his slave. He stopped at a mosque and went inside to pray, leaving the slave to take care of the goods.

When he was gone, the slave climbed on the camel’s back. When the master returned, the slave declared himself as the master and the actual master as his slave. A quarrel ensued.

The matter was then taken to Ali Ibne Abu Talib (A.S.), cousin and son-in-law of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.). He was seated on the ground in a field with some of his friends and followers, and his slave Qambar.

Upon hearing the matter, Ali ordered Qambar to make a wall out of mud. He then told Qambar to make two head-sized holes in it. He gave his sword, Zulfiqar, to Qambar to unsheath and hold high above the wall.

Ali addressed the two men and ordered them to put their heads in the holes. They obliged. Ali then turned to Qambar and ordered:

“Behead the slave!”

Upon hearing this, the real slave quickly withdrew his head, got up and ran away screaming.

Ali turned to the remaining man and declared him the real master.

In another event, two women were brought to Ali. They both claimed they were the mother of the same child.

Ali ordered the child to be brought to court. He then told to cut the child in two and hand a piece to each woman.

Upon hearing this, one woman denounced her claim and asked to give the child to the other woman.

Upon hearing this, Ali ordered the child to be given to the woman who had spoken, saying that a real mother would never allow her child to get hurt, even if it means staying away from him!

**************

Examples of Ali’s wisdom and generosity are here, here, here and here.

**************

This is the Ali about whom Umar remarked:

اگر علی نہ ہوتا تو عمر ہلاک ہو جاتا

If Ali had not been, Umar would have been killed!

**************

The 19th of Ramazan marks the day Ali was attacked by Abdur-Rehman Ibne Muljim (L.A.), a Kharjite (one of the Remnants from the battle of Naharwan), sent by Muawiyya (L.A.) Ibne Abu Sufyan (L.A.), the Umayyad (L.A.) daddy of the likes of Zakir Naik (L.A.), Israr Ahmed (L.A.), Javed Ghamdi (L.A.) and Amir Liaquat (L.A.).

Ali was leading the Fajr prayers in the mosque of Kufah when Ibne Muljim (L.A.) attacked him with his sword in the second Sajdah (prostration), bifurcating the top of his head from which blood began spurting. After the attack, Ali declared:

Fuzto Bi-Rab-bil Ka’aba!

meaning

By the God of the Ka’aba, Ali has become successful!

The sword that Ibne Muljim (L.A.) used was heavily poisoned and as soon as the medics examined the wound, they asked Ali(A.S.) to declare his will. (For more information on Ali’s Martyrdom, read this.)

**************

I’m talking about the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet (S.A.W.W.) whom the Prophet raised in his own house from the age of three months and fed him in such a way that according to Ali:

He used to put the food in his mouth, soften it up with his tounge and then feed it to me like a bird feeds it’s chick i.e. put it directly in my mouth from his own!

This is the Ali whom the Prophet (S.A.W.W.) declared as his own brother after the migration to Madinah when he was forming brotherhoods between the Mahajirs and the Ansars.

This is the Ali about whom the Prophet also declared that “Wherever truth goes, Ali will follow and wherever Ali goes, truth will follow!”

Once, Ali was seated with the Prophet (S.A.W.W.). Abu Bakr and Ayesha were also present. Ayesha noted that her father kept his eyes fixed on Ali’s face.

She asked her father, “Why do you keep looking at Ali’s face?”

He replied, “Have you not heard the Prophet say that Allah sends his blessings on Ali’s face and to look at it is the worship of Allah?”

This is the Ali who has the honor and distinction of coming to and leaving this world in the houses of Allah: Born in the Holy Ka’aba itself and martyred in the mosque of Kufah!

**************

It is a shame to say that none of the channels yet have aired a program on Ali Ibne Abi Talib (A.S.) on the occasion of his martyrdom. Geo TV’s Aamir Liaquat-guided-and-produced anchor did a program in which he informed the viewers that it was the date of the death of the ruler Abdur Rahman Saalis. And who the heck is that?

Our media can go out of their way to investigate and inform about a historical nobody like Abdur Rahman Saalis but fail to even acknowledge the occasion of the attack on perhaps the most popular undisputed personality in the history of Islam, after the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.). Why is every information related to the Ahle Bayt (A.S.) of the Prophet (S.A.W.W.) hidden and suppressed by our media and scholars when it is present in coherence in the books of almost all the sects? What is there to be afraid of? Is this stubbornness, jealousy or plain defiance of the Prophet’s (S.A.W.W.) teachings and sayings?

One thing it is for sure, and that is shameless idiocy!

Innal-laha As-alukum Alaihin Ajran Illal Mawaddata Fil Qurba!

“Say: I do not ask of you (followers) any return for it (teachings) but love for my near relatives.”

(Holy Quraan, 42:23)

The verse is popularly known as the Ayah-e-Mawaddah (Verse of Mawaddat or the Verse of Devotion)

The term “Al-Qurba” in this verse, based on the traditions narrated from the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.), embraces only “Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain and no one else”.

The tradition from Ibne Abbas has it that when the “mawaddat ul-qurba” verse was revealed, the Prophet (S.A.W.W.) was asked: “O messenger, who are your near relatives who should be loved?”

He stated: “Ali, Fatimah, and their sons!”

This tradition has been narrated by Muhib Tabari in “Zakhair al-`Uqba” 25/1; Ibn Hanbal in “Manaqib” 110; Mo’min Shabilenji “Nural-Absar” 101; and Zamakhshari in “Kashshaf” as annotation to the said verse.

In the “Tafsir al-Kabir”, Fakhr Razi has related the said narration from “Kashshaf” and has said that based on this verse, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain should be revered and sanctified. He has also cited lines of verse from the Shafii’ Imam, Muhammad bin Idris Shafii’ in this regard. A line of it is as follows:

If love for the members of the Household of the Holy Prophet is heresy, then the world should stand witness that I am a heretic.

Wake Up, We Are Already At War

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Prime Minister Gilani spent U.S. $ 1 million to meet Mr. Bush but had no stomach to protest a foreign attack inside his country that killed innocent civilians. The priorities remain limited to a party leader who was killed more than nine months ago. The Prime Minister’s microscopic vision only allows him to see the PPP flag. In a country where Party leaders are bigger than political parties and political parties are bigger than Pakistan, what more can we expect from this distorted figure of democracy?

By Laila Sohail

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan —

  • 11 June 2008: U.S. strike killed 11 Pakistan soldiers along the border with Afghanistan.
  • 28 July 2008 – Wana: At least 6 people killed in a U.S. strike inside Pakistan.
  • 4 September 2008 – Angoor Adda – Waziristan: At least 4 people killed in a U.S. strike inside Pakistan.
  • 5 September 2008 – Goorweck Baipali: At least 5 people, including three children killed due to U.S. strike inside Pakistan
  • 8 September 2008 – Wana: At least 21 people killed and 14 injured in a U.S. missile strike inside Pakistan borders. This was the third strike in less than a week.

The number of missile attacks by pilot-less Predator drones in Pakistan have more than tripled in the past year. Pakistani officials reported 11 such strikes this year, compared to three strikes in 2007 [The Washington Post, Sept. 10]

U.S. President Bush, said in his address at the U.S. National Defense University that parts of Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan were “all theatres in the same overall struggle”.

On Monday, July 28, the Prime Minster of Pakistan was on his first visit to the U.S. to show the importance of Pak-U.S. relations. Washington’s response? A strike inside Pakistan killing six. While meeting Mr. Gilani, U.S. President’s praise for Pakistan’s role in the War against Terror was nothing short of mockery.

It was an audacious attempt to show just how helpless and unimportant the Prime Minister and his visit actually were. Unfortunately, it was successful. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani continued to follow his timetable, posing for the camera with President Bush to show how close and respectfully they were working, oblivious to the lives that were lost back home. “We talked about the need for us to make sure that the Afghan border is secure, as best as possible,” Mr. Bush said before the leaders continued their discussions. “Pakistan has made a very strong commitment to that.”

The missile strikes were not important enough to be discussed in their ‘talks’ over a cup of tea. The cost of this friendly call was an alleged U.S. $1 million, paid by Pakistan.

The White House press secretary, Dana M. Perino, admitted that the issues on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan were “complex” but she said the differences were over rated. “It’s tense in that we are working together to try to fight counterterrorism,” she said, “but I think that we are much more on the same page than some people would like to paint”.

Looking at the performance of the latest government in Pakistan, this statement might actually hold true. While Pakistan is definitely not ‘on the same page’ with Washington, the Government of Pakistan is very well “on the same page” with the U.S.

The strikes continue, and all we get is a grin from the President, or a statement from the Prime Minister that goes like this, “This is a war which is Pakistan’s war. And we’ll fight for our own interest. And that is because I have lost my own leader, Benazir Bhutto, because of the militants.”

Nothing about the homes that will never see light again. Nothing about the sovereignty of Pakistan.

The U.S. Admiral Mike Mullen wants to attack Pakistan? When are we going to acknowledge the extent of the threat that we face? Are not our western cities as much a part of Pakistan as our central provinces, or are we waiting for a strike more near our homes before we realize what is happening?

To the Media: Play your role as a watchdog now, when we need it. Where are the analysts, the superstar anchors? Where is the intelligentsia that is supposed to enlighten the common man?

To the President: No Mr. Zardari, please spare us your noble advice and wisdom. What we need is an honest leader who can stand up for Pakistan, not a remote controlled U.S. moppet.

To Gen. Ashfaq Kayani: We have no faith in the government. Please retaliate to the threats. Save us from our own, and save us from the enemies outside. We can not compromise on our sovereignty. We stand united with you. May you protect Pakistan always.

Pakistan Paindabad!
