I was pondering over my choice of topics to write:
- The History of “SAWJ”
- My Mom’s Wish To Become A Geo Anchor
I’ve decided to go along with the latter. This week is the last of my funny posts as next week, Muharram begins.
So it all started when my Mom came to me and asked me to get Geo’s number. Naturally, I asked why.
“I want to become an anchor on Geo.”
“Why?”
“I’ll earn money. I can be an anchor. Your father has given the go-ahead. Get me the number.”
“No way! You’re not going on Geo TV. I’m not going to let my dignity and honor be trampled this way.”
*****
Later, we were sitting with my father at the dining table.
My father has a killer sense of humor. He rarely jokes but they always hit bulls-eye!

hahahaha…first nana, now baba…men of ur family have good sense of humour (excluding u)….
Sahi baat hai.
A friend in my company cannot, simply cannot, keep a straight face!
maybe it has sth to do with ur looks then and not the sense of humour
Someone’s jealous of my looks!
Could’ve been if they always started laughing when they saw me. But that’s not the case.
yeah right…i really want to sprout a french beard…
its just i cant get over ur SAWJ joke…u would have to do sth superhilarious to disabuse me of that impression…….how abt “the history of SAWJ” ? it has that funny ring to it…..
If I have enough votes, that just might become a later post.
how materialistic, i must say….anyway, ask ppl to rate ur sense of humour….khud he pata chal jaye ga kitnay pani main ho…
I don’t need rating. I’ve got testimonials.
When people laugh at my jokes, that is proof enough that I’m good!
ok ok chill …..
incidentally, is this the look u r expecting ME to be jealous of ?

lolz…naughty SAWJ…u were doing background check on me….which particular comment are u referring to????
@Ammar: LOL, stop calling me SAWJOO!
@Pinky: Nah, I visited your writings. Anything pro-Chauhdry is bound to be anti-Musharraf.
pro-chauhdry?….not exactly…i knew abt his misuse of authority (getting his son inducted in FIA) even before he was sacked…..n i hated him for that but since he took a stand for supremacy of judiciary…he has grown on me….
He never took a stand for Judiciary Pinky. It was all about himself.
In 1997, Nawaz Sharif made two factions of the then Supreme Court fight each other. One was then CJ Sajjad Ali Shah’s and the other under Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui. As a result, CJ Sajjad Ali Shah resigned. Mr. Iftikhar Chauhdry and the lawyers lot failed to stand up for him.
In 2000, then CJ Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui refused to take oath under the PCO. Most judges did not. But Mr. Iftikhar Chauhdry did. He refused to stand with his fellow judges on the issue of the PCO.
In 2007, he was sacked by Pres. Musharraf. Suddenly he remembered that the judiciary was being trampled by a military “dictator” and he stood up for the cause. He was reinstated later and the dictator took dictation from the Supreme Court and accepted it.
Later when Musharraf imposed Emergency, he refused to take oath under PCO II, while he had under PCO I, and had to leave due to his bloated ego.
The people of Pakistan do not support him. They are more worried about themselves. The only people that ever went to his rallies were a few thousand lawyers or Anti-Musharraf political parties, specially the N-League.
yeah he is no angel but even the constitution experts admit that the manner of sacking was unconstitutional….so for ONCE, he was on the right side….n when someone is on trial, u dont try to bring the former charges against the accused, u just focus on the present case n if i remember he was acquitted, aitazaz won the case, dint he????? ….i dont know abt ppl of pakistan but ppl of twin cities certainly do…n yeah i am a Bahria university student…n we staged a peaceful demonstration when his daughter n our uni fellow was detained n couldnt appear in the exams….
acha abhi main uni ja rahi hun, quiz hai jo mujhe siray se ni aata, dua karna plz BUT i really think u should be held in contempt of court as u r indirectly hinting that Supreme Court of Pakistan acquitted the wrong guy
The manner of sacking was controversial and was never proven as unconstitutional. There were opponents and well as proponents.
If the manner of removal of a bad guy is wrong, that does not mean that it rids him of his badness. If he’s reinstated, he will again be a bad guy.
Aitzaz won the case in the Supreme Court over the manner of sacking, the reference was never brought into question and Musharraf accepted.
The people of the twin cities need to reevaluate their opinions in the light of Aitzaz’s interview with a foreign journalist in which he stated that he would not be worried if his lawyer’s movement leads to the breaking of Pakistan.
Personally, I don’t give a crap about the Supreme Court as i don’t believe man can do justice to man.
And sure, best of luck with your quiz!
nice post and ur mom surely sounds really sweet
waise wats wrong in letting her be the anchor at geo?
hahahahha u father has planned it all out, bus he can see the President’s Chair not that far away
KW, I think it has to do with appearing on TV regularly? I have a feeling my own family wouldn’t be cool about that either as an ánchor. *shrug*
Or maybe SAWJ can enlighten us about the reasons.
@KW: I hate Geo!
@Anonymous: Nah, my father doesn’t care about such things.
Aitazaz said what????? gimme a link or sth for verification n then i will get that case study cancelled which our group was doing abt him….honestly, this is too much…it was bad enough that he let his political affiliations supercede the cause…
anyway, man CAN deliver justice to man as pointed out in ur blog http://blog.ratedsawj.com/2008/09/21/justice-to-muslims-and-the-justice-of-muslims/ but yes the justice for crimes like murder can only be delivered in the life hereafter
aur “best of luck” kahin multan k pass crash ho gayi, islamabad nahin pohnch saki….
@PD: Answered above!
@Pinky: I don’t believe Hazrat Ali (A.S.) was a ‘man’.
