I put on Geo today and one of their “Breaking News” promos suddenly came up. It was about the body of another Pakistani, Muhammad Akram, killed in Indian custody, being delivered to the Pakistani authorities on the Wahga border.
After the victim’s brother, Muhammad Aslam, identified the body, the Geo correspondent went up to him and asked, “How do you feel after looking at your brother’s body?”
Second question: “After this incident, what do you think about the relations and goodwill actions between India and Pakistan?”
They then showed the face of the dead body after the coffin was opened.
******
Are these people really human? The guy just received the dead body of his brother and they’re asking him about his perspective on Indo-Pak relations in the light of his brother’s death! Do they have any respect for other people’s feelings? So much for “freedom of the media”!

Whatever happened to responsible journalism! I was pretty shocked too. Maybe, they don’t deserve so much freedom if they can’t use it properly.
They don’t deserve any freedom. The whole country is burning because of this manufactured judicial crisis. I still remember, it was Kamran Khan who first used the word “bohran”. If these people are so loyal to Pakistan and so desperate for a free and independent judiciary, why don’t they remind the Champion of the Judiciary Mr. Nawaz Sharif of his attack on the Supreme Court on 28th Nov, 1997? Strange how all they lawyers (Aitzaz Ahsan, Ali Ahmed Kurd, Muneer Malik and the rest of the gang) and the “honorable” judges (Iftikhar Chauhdry, Ramday, etc) have forgotten this and fail to question Nawaz about the real reason he is so desperate to get the judiciary back. All the problems like poverty, illiteracy and inflation have taken a backseat to this.
I am inclined to agree with you. They’ve had too much freedom in too little a time, and now they can’t decide how to use it best. There needs to be a directive to be followed by all media in Pakistan – at least some checks that would stop them from showing just about anything they like.
Checks to make them show the truth, not morphed and twisted stories to serve the interests of scheming politicians.
I agree… there should be check and sum for media too!
Welcome to my blog!
Heck now whats the use of such freedom that ends up like this, things have gone materialistic no values for human emotions but i suppose we humans have lost this ourselves …
We can’t call ourselves humans for it, we’re worse off than animals. We’re ready to burn our country in order to pursue stupid issues.
