Money and Politics over dead bodies

Karachi, the revenue capital of Pakistan, saw yet another bloodbath on 19th October just after midnight when two bombs exploded in a rally escorting former PM Benazir Bhutto the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

19th October has now become a day of great joy for the media personnel, everyone of whom will go to great lengths and try to surpass each other in exploiting the situation to make more money, and the politicians who now have an excellent chance to bash the government in order to get public support for themselves.

Media examples are present all over the place and political examples may be seen in the form of the statement of former PM Nawaz Sharif saying that he deeply regrets the incident and that “the internal situation of the country is not right.”

One more thing I want to point out is that why didn’t Benazir Bhutto go to Bilawal House (her residence) directly and have the crowds dispersed when she knew there was a great probability of suicide attacks.

The only thing that I can derive from this is that nobody gives a damn about the people.
