A man came to Ali told him about the generosity of Hatam Tai.
The man said that Hatam had seven doors. He was so generous that when a beggar came to him, he gave him a bread from one door. Then the beggar moved to the second door and he gave him a bread from the second door. Then the beggar went to the third door where he got the third bread and so on and so forth until he had seven pieces of bread.
To this, Ali replied, ” What a miser Hatam was! If he had given all seven pieces of bread to the beggar at the first door, the poor man wouldn’t have had the need to move from door to door.”
